Facelift generation map

Volkswagen's first official India Golf since 26 May 2025, the Mk 8.5 GTI as a German CBU in limited batches. One generation so far; the current on-sale Golf is that eighth-generation facelift GTI only (2.0 TSI 265 PS / 370 Nm 7DSG FWD). Polo GTI was the previous India GTI, not a Golf generation. No regular (non-GTI) Golf on sale. No official India Golf recall as of 19 August 2026. India launch: 26 May 2025.
