Facelift generation map
Toyota's only India hatchback, the Toyota-badged Maruti Suzuki Baleno, since 6 June 2019. Two generations on the map: first generation 6 June 2019 (rebadge of the 28 January 2019 Baleno facelift, G/V) and the current 15 March 2022 second-gen HEARTECT Glanza (unique Toyota grille, L-shaped DRLs, beige-black cabin), built at Suzuki Motor Gujarat. 1.2 Dualjet petrol 5MT/5AMT (Idle Start-Stop, not SHVS) and factory CNG 5MT from 9 November 2022. Six airbags made standard across E/S/G/V on 11 July 2025. Prestige Edition is a pack. Baleno is a twin, not a Glanza gen. No facelift on sale as of 19 August 2026 (Baleno facelift is due 5 September 2026). Official India campaigns: first-gen fuel-pump motor (2,305 units) and current-body airbag-controller (listed below). India launch: 6 June 2019.

Defect
TKM / possible issue with the airbag controller assembly (Controller Assy Airbag), shared campaign with Urban Cruiser Hyryder and with Maruti's Baleno/Grand Vitara family. Could result in non-deployment of airbags and seat-belt pretensioners in a crash. No reported failures of the part in India at announcement. Owners asked to minimise usage until replaced.
What was changed
Free replacement of the airbag controller at authorised Toyota dealers. TKM said dealers would contact owners. VIN check at toyotabharat.com.
