Facelift generation map
India's volume 1.0-litre Alto since 4 August 2010, sold at Maruti Arena. Three generations in India; the 2014 car was a full model change on the Alto 800 body (not a styling facelift of the 2010 K10), and the 2022 model is a new HEARTECT generation after a two-year BS6 hiatus, not a facelift. Alto 800 is the related 796 cc sibling, not a K10 generation. Factory CNG and AMT/AGS are powertrains, not generations. India launch: 4 August 2010.

Defect
Possible defect in the Airbag Controller. Maruti: in a rare case the airbags and seat-belt pretensioners may not deploy in a crash. Owners of suspected vehicles were advised not to drive until the part is replaced.
What was changed
Inspect and replace the airbag controller free of cost if required. Owners contacted by authorised workshops; chassis check on marutisuzuki.com.
Possible defect in the steering gearbox assembly. Maruti: in a rare case this may affect vehicle steerability. Owners of affected cars were advised not to drive or use the vehicle until the part is replaced.
