Mahindra's volume mid-size SUV, launched in India on 14 August 2021 as the XUV700 (Mahindra PR: from Rs 11.99 lakh MX petrol) then renamed and facelifted as the XUV 7XO on 5 January 2026 from Rs 13.66 lakh AX (introductory, first 40,000). treats 7XO as the XUV700 facelift with a new name on the same platform, not a new generation; Mahindra launched it as the successor that 'raises the benchmarks' of the XUV700. 2.0 mStallion TGDi petrol and 2.2 mHawk diesel, 6MT/6AT, AWD on selected diesels. Built in India (Chakan). XUV700 had over 3 lakh customers by the 7XO launch (Mahindra PR). Sales slug mahindra-mahindra-xuv-7xo is the current 7XO nameplate. India launch: 14 August 2021 as XUV700; renamed XUV 7XO 5 January 2026.

Mahindra BSE filing 18 August 2023: inspect wiring-loom routing in the engine bay for a potential risk of abrasion cut. Action under the SIAM voluntary-recall code. Separate from a 3,560-unit XUV400 brake-potentiometer campaign announced the same day.
What was changed
Dealer inspection and free rectification. Mahindra said owners would be contacted individually.
