LowGlobal NCAP 4-star adult / 4-star child (2-airbag test, 2020 protocol)Safety / Official test
2020 Global NCAP #SaferCarsForIndia (similar to Latin NCAP 2013) of the new Indian Thar with two frontal airbags: 4 stars adult (12.52/17) and 4 stars child (41.11/49 — highest child score of cars tested to that date). Bodyshell stable; footwell unstable (denied a 5-star path). Dual front airbags, ISOFIX and three-point belts for all seating positions on the tested forward-facing spec. Global NCAP required Mahindra to withdraw the side-facing rear-seat basic variant or it would publish a zero child-star result for that spec. UN R95 side-impact pass without side airbags (voluntary); side/curtain airbags were not offered. Not comparable 1:1 with 2022-protocol GNCAP tests.
