Nameplate since December 2008 (Chennai); this catalog maps the second-generation Elite i20 from 11 August 2014 (facelift 7 February 2018) and the third-generation BC3 on sale since 5 November 2020, with an 8 September 2023 facelift (parametric jewel grille, 2D logo, dual-tone grey/black cabin). First-generation i20 (December 2008) and 28 March 2012 i-Gen facelift stay related — gives a day for i-Gen but not an /OEM day-level date for the 2008 original. Regular i20 is 1.2 Kappa 5MT/IVT only after the 2023 facelift — diesel and 1.0 T-GDi left the standard range then; turbo lives on i20 N Line. Era trim returned 5 February 2026 from Rs 5.99 lakh (not a styling facelift). Hyundai: 1.5 million cumulative India sales by 24 July 2026. Knight is a cosmetic pack, not a generation. Fourth generation unveiled in Brazil 12 June 2026 is not on sale in India. No official India i20 recall as of 19 August 2026.
