Three generations in India, each of the first two with one real styling facelift (3 March 2016; 18 August 2021). The current car is the 4 December 2024 third generation (Elevate/City family face, Honda SENSING), which made its global debut in India — 1.2 i-VTEC petrol 5MT/CVT only; no factory diesel or CNG (dealer-level CNG retrofit on MT). HighGlobal NCAP 2-star adult / 0-star child (2024, stricter protocol)Safety / Official test
Global NCAP 2.0 #SaferCarsForIndia (April 2024) tested the Indian second-gen Amaze with two airbags: 2 stars adult (27.85/34) and 0 stars child (8.58/49). Adult score limited by no standard ESC, no optional side head protection, and driver-only seatbelt reminder. Child score: head contact in the frontal test, high chest/neck loads on the 3-year-old, ejection risk on the 1.5-year-old, no three-point belts in all seats and no passenger-airbag disconnect. Earlier 4-star adult / 1-star child was a 2019 Global NCAP 1.0 test of a South Africa-spec car — not comparable. Honda: total score was at 5-star level but equipment (ESC, curtain airbags) pulled the rating down. Third-gen Amaze is a separate Bharat NCAP 5/4-star result.

LowDiesel noisier than rivalsNVH / Review consensus
's 2013 first drive: the new 1.5 i-DTEC is noisier than the compact-sedan competition, and the Brio-derived dashboard does not feel as special as the cabin space. Not a defect or recall — characteristic of the first-gen diesel.
